Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Service – Children and Young People
Salary

£31,000 pro-rata for part-time

22.2hrs per week (Full-time arrangements may be available when paired with another role in the service)

This exciting and innovative service provides child-centred, outcome-focused support for children and young people, from birth to and up to 25 years old with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), residing in safe accommodation because of domestic abuse.

Within this role, you will work to ensure that the service receives appropriate referrals, they are allocated promptly and support to children, young people and their families, is effective.

You will provide line management, guidance and support to identified team members.

The postholder will have a degree level qualification in a related area, experience of providing services for children and young people who have experienced trauma and experience of managing or supervising team members.  

Principal Accountabilities

  • To contribute to the effective delivery and quality assurance of a high-quality service
  • To ensure the service is compliant with, or exceeds, contractual requirements
  • To provide line management, guidance and support to DA SASS team members
  • To promote the service to ensure it reaches as many children and young people as possible and enhances the reputation of the organisation
  • To support the team in ensuring that children, young people and their families are effectively safeguarded
  • To establish and maintain effective multi-agency links with key partners to support the effective delivery of this service
  • Keep clear accurate records and provide the required monitoring and evaluation information and any other progress reports required by due dates.
  • Attend supervision with for quality assurance and personal development purposes.
  • Consider own training needs, keeping up to date with relevant good practice, and sharing this with team members.
  • Any other duties which may reasonably be required by the Salus Management Team.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESExperience of providing services to children and young who have experienced trauma

Experience of managing/supervising or coaching other staff members

Experience of working effectively with partners

A good understanding of agencies and support available for families in Kent

Strong organisational ability including ability to plan workload and manage own time effectively

A high level of written and verbal presentation skills and ICT skills

Skilled in ensuring the voice of the child is central to the service
Experience of providing services to children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse
KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of the impact of trauma, including domestic abuse, on children and young people

Knowledge of the impact of this work on team members

A thorough understanding of Safeguarding and Data Protection legislation
Knowledge of strengths based approaches
