What is this service?

The Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) support mentor service is designed to build social competence and positive peer relationships through a structured, evidence-based approach.

Who is it for?

Children aged 11 and above who are diagnosed or awaiting a diagnosis of ASC.  This service is not intended for the most complex cases.

What does it offer?

Allocation of a skilled mentor for up to 6 months who will, in collaboration with parent/carers and children and young people, outline a goals-based intervention meeting individual need. This will be focused on engagement in education, routines and structure, positive activities, community involvement, transition to adulthood and peer relationships.

Where is it available?

The service is available countywide across Kent and Medway (fee payable).
