Service Summary
Salus are commissioned by various bodies to deliver evidence-based, effective, and innovative support for children and young people in Kent with mild to moderate emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.
Job purpose
The Clinical Supervisor will provide specialist clinical supervision, leadership, and guidance to Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP), trainees, and other relevant team members delivering interventions to children, young people and their families.
The post holder will ensure that practice remains evidence-based, safe, developmentally appropriate, and aligned to clinical governance and service standards.
This role does not carry a clinical caseload.
Principal Accountabilities
1.0 Clinical Supervision and Workforce Development
1.1 Provide high-quality clinical supervision (group and individual) to CBT Therapists and CWPs.
1.2 Support supervisees to develop advanced clinical skills, reflective thinking, and safe, effective practice.
1.3 Monitor adherence to evidence-based treatment protocols and professional standards.
1.4 Support performance, wellbeing, and capability development within the clinical workforce.
2.0 Clinical Practice
2.1 Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement
2.2 Be aware of the up-to-date research and evidence relating to the clinical and non-clinical care and treatment of children and young people
2.3 Work to ensure that services are trauma-informed, inclusive, safe, and culturally competent.
2.4 Support training delivery, skills workshops, induction programmes and CPD sessions
Clinical Consultation & Guidance
3.1 Offer expert clinical advice on assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and risk management.
3.2 Facilitate reflective practice spaces to enhance resilience and quality of care
3.3 Support staff in working collaboratively with families, schools, and wider partners.
3.5 Promote a culture of learning, development, and continuous improvement
4.0 Professional Responsibilities
4.1 Maintain professional registration with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g., HCPC, GMC, NMC).
4.2 Drive the maintenance of standards of practice according to employer policies and professional codes.
4.3 Ensure that confidentiality is always protected.
4.4 Participate in individual performance review and continuing professional development.
4.5 Keep all records up to date in relation to CPD and ensure personal development plans maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models.
4.6 Attend relevant conferences, training, and networks in line with agreed objectives.
4.7 Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding policies.
4.8 Ensure that official position is not abused for personal gain or private interests.
