Background and Job purpose

We require someone to develop, deliver and run Salus’s Safety in Action program across the county.

Safety in Action has been running in Kent since the early 1990’s, with several thousand children from across Kent taking part. It is supported by many organisations including Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, RNLI, Kent County Council, British Transport Police and UK Power Networks.

Through this multi-agency approach we deliver safety messages to young people as they prepare to transition to secondary school, providing them with tips and advice about how they can stay safe, access services and develop personal and social skills. The event is designed to develop citizenship and safety skills and to increase awareness of dangers.

You will need to have experience of organising large scale events, gaining support from multi-agency partners and engage with key decision makers within schools.

Due to the geographical area that this post covers, you will need to hold a current driving licence.

This is a flexible role but you will be expected to work full-time during the Safety in Action events. These run between February and June and equate to approximately 8 weeks. This will be offset at other times of the year.

Contract: Fixed term contract for year with extension subject to continued funding.

Location: Various locations across Kent
