Salus Awarded Funding by the Education Endowment Foundation

23 October 2015

EEFSalus are excited to announce that we have been awarded funding by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to deliver FRIENDS training to 80 schools in Kent.

The FRIENDS programme is a 10 week intervention that aims to improve the resilience of children and young people. The programme can be delivered in whole classes, in small groups or with individual pupils. It teaches children and young people practical skills to identify and manage their anxious feelings; to identify unhelpful anxiety increasing thoughts and to replace these with more helpful thoughts; and how to face and overcome their problems and challenges. FRIENDS is recognised by the World Health Organisation  for over 12 years of research  and as an effective means to prevent anxiety for children.

For this project, FRIENDS will be delivered in whole classes over a period of 10 weeks, and followed up with 2 ‘booster’ sessions. The programme will be evaluated by a team from Manchester University.

Please contact us if you would like any further information, or are a school who is interested in participating in the project.
